Launched in 2010, the program has reached millions of kids and helped raise national awareness of the issue of bullying. We do this by empowering our audience to speak up safely and effectively in the face of bullying, while helping kids develop greater kindness, caring and empathy that stops bullying before it starts.
In 2020, Cartoon Network is proud to celebrate 10 years of impact through Stop Bullying: Speak Up. In this milestone year, Cartoon Network is increasing its focus on cyberbullying to better reflect today's reality that bullying is not limited to the real-world, and that kids are spending more time online and on digital media. As it has done in the past, Cartoon Network will rely on original research to inform its efforts. In partnership with the Cyberbullying Research Center, Cartoon Network conducted the first of its kind, nationally representative survey of the incidences of cyberbullying among kids ages 9-12. Moving forward, Cartoon Network will work alongside its nonprofit partners and parent company AT&T to empower kids to address cyberbullying and provide resources for the adults in their lives to support them.
Complimenting its increased focus on cyberbullying, Stop Bullying: Speak Up continues its work to stop bullying before it starts by promoting kindness, caring and empathy among kids. This includes:
